Easy to Make Honey Maple Granola
Do you love granola? Want and easily modified recipe to make your own? Here’s an easy recipe that you can modify to your taste. Simple, quick and pretty darn good stuff.
Granola
3 cups rolled oats (not instant)
3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 cup honey or maple syrup or a mix of the two
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup small-dice dried fruit
1/2 cup coarsely chopped raw or toasted nuts or seeds
1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
2. Put the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl and stir well.
3. Put the honey or maple syrup, oil, and vanilla in a small bowl and mix. Pour this over oat mixture and stir until thoroughly coated.
4. Spread the mixture on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, remove and stir. Continue baking until the granola is light golden brown maybe another 15 minutes or so.
5. Remove from oven and put back into a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Granola will harden as it cools.
